Have you ever noticed how valleys can feel silent? For a long time, I mistook that silence as absence. I thought God had stepped away, leaving me to carry the weight alone. But over time, I discovered that He was nearer than I realized.
His presence wasn’t loud or forceful — it was gentle, steady, like a hand resting on my shoulder in the dark. Looking back, I can see moments when I should have fallen apart, but didn’t. Times when strength came from nowhere. That was His presence.
Even when my emotions felt numb, He was closer than my breath, whispering, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
If you’re walking a valley right now, pause and breathe. Remember — His nearness isn’t measured by your feelings, but by His promise.
“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
— Hebrews 13:5
“Lord, remind me today that You are nearer than I can imagine. Even in silence, I want to rest in Your presence.”
